I didn’t stay overnight, but I stopped to admire the Fallon Hotel from the outside and it’s absolutely beautiful. The architecture is a perfect example of preserved Gold Rush–era design — brickwork, balconies, and details that look like they’ve been frozen in time. The building is in remarkable condition, a true highlight of the historic district. The little garden beside the hotel is charming too, adding color and life to the classic 1800s look. Even just passing by, it’s clear this is one of the gems of Columbia State Park.

Great staff, all original furnishings. Takes you back in time. One problem.....it’s extremely haunted, My family & I we’re there alone one night. Around midnight, the water in the sink turned on, the lights went on and off and my kids toys were moving by themselves on the floor, so we called the main hotel, The City Hotel and told them. They offered a room there right away, so we left and stayed at the other hotel. Still haunted, but it seems much less. A little scary, yet the whole town is awesome! We stayed at both hotels again too and a little action, but not like the first night. Definitely will stay one of our mainstay vacay spots, even with what went on.

Such a great way to stay in Columbia. The hotel is beautifully furnished and maintained and this is unique chance to feel what it could have been to stay in the city during gold rush. You might not get the kind of comfort you get in modern hotel (shared bathroom, no TV) but the experience is just fantastic. It is also right in the middle of Columbia so all the sites are walking distance from the hotel.

Kind of a strange experience. We arrived very late and Chris from the saloon got us into our locked up hotel. We were the only ones there on a Friday night. The room was decorated in period furniture and very comfortable. The was a nice shower down the hall, very acceptable. There was a sink and toilet in the room. The porch was a nice place to sit. Overall a good experience. My wife likes to think the place is haunted...so if they like that kind of thing... so be it.

This place was used in the filming of the 1947 movie The Red House with Edward G. Robinson. It was the General Store in the town used by Lon McAllister (whose character name is Nath in the movie).

It's a lovely step back in time. I had the perfect balcony view. You don't miss the TV in your room, when there's so much to do outside. Wonderful staff, cozy beds, and even a little ghost activity. Things got a little spooky around midnight. I'll definitely be back again.

This is the most amazing and beautiful hotel! None of the pictures online come close to the impact of being there in person. Wallpaper, bedding, and decor is all period-perfect. The rooms have toilets and vanities but the showers are in a common area (they are very clean and inviting with heat lamps, but the hot water isn't "on" all day so ask). There is a great little theater next door which makes a good enough reason to check it out sometime. The little town of Columbia is cute and touristy but walking around at night after everyone else is gone is very cool!

We visited the ice cream parlor. Delicious! But you can never go wrong with ice cream and hot fudge. The cashier was very pleasant and the place is very clean. Also has that old time feel (the whole park does) and has a good vibe to it. I'd say if you're stopping by it's definitely worth going in and enjoying a cool down, especially in the summer.
